About The Trek

Most frequented by Indian adventure lovers as well as foreigners; the trek is named after the high altitude lake which it traverses: Chandratal. Comparatively most of the days are on lower altitude and highest altitude touched is 4950 M at Baralacha la pass. The trek passes through alpine plateau, Green Meadows, waterfalls, valleys with wild flowers, glaciers and wild rivers. Some stiff climbing are involved in many places; making it a challenging and interesting trek. Ideal for novice as well as experienced trekkers.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On arrival at Delhi airport met our representative and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi-Chandigarh
Drive from Delhi to Chandigarh. On arrival check in at Hotel. Overnight hotel at hotel.
 
Day 03: Chandigarh- Manali
Drive from  Chandigarh to Manali. On arrival check in at Hotel. Evening at leisure and overnight hotel.

Day 04: Manali - Keylong (3348 M/11000 Ft)
Morning after breakfast drive to Keylong (115 km/4 - 5 hrs approx) via Rohtang pass (3980 M) for acclimatisation purpose. Go on short hikes around Keylong. Keylong is the capital town of Lahaul and has numerous cultivated fields bordered with willow and poplar trees, in-between the surrounding barren landscape. Overnight at camps.

Day 05: Keylong - Batal (3950 M / 13000 Ft)
We will drive to Batal from Keylong in the morning. Arrive in Batal for lunch. We will go on an acclimatising hike from here. Return to the camp in the evening. Overnight in camps.

Day 06: Batal - Chandra Tal(4250 M / 14000 Ft)
Today we will trek 18 kms to reach Chandratal and it will take us about 5-6 hrs, while on this trek we will get a nice view of the Lahul range, peaks like Minar (6172 M), Talagiri (6279 M), Tara Pahar (6227 M) and Mulkila (6517 M). Overnight in camps.

Day 07: Chandra Tal (4250 M/14000 Ft)
This day belongs to you, 'Do Your Own Thing'. Go on an exploratory hike, swim in the chilled waters of the lake, or just chill at the campsite. Overnight in camps.

Day 08: Chandra Tal - Tokpo Yongma(4350 M/14300 Ft)
Today's trek is of 15 km and will take us about 6-7 hrs. Overnight in camps..

Day 09: Tokpo Yongma - Tokpo Gongma (4650 M/15250 Ft)
We will trek 15 kms on this day and the time taken will depend on how long it takes to cross Tokpo Yongma (Lower River) and one more stream. We might have to use ropes for crossing the streams. Overnight in camps.

Day 10: Tokpo Gongma - Baralacha (4950 M/16236 Ft) - Jispa (3348 M/11000 Ft)
We start the day by crossing Tokpo Gongma (upper river). On this day we will have to hike for 12 km to reach Baralacha La. Baralacha La (4950 M) is a double pass. It marks the divide between the Himalayan and Lahul Ranges and also between the Himalayan and the Baralacha Range extending to the North. From here drive to Jispa, a beautiful hamlet by the river Bhaga. Overnight in camps.

Day 9: Jispa - Manali
After breakfast drive to Manali (147 km, 4-5 hrs). Evening at leisure.

Day 10: Manali- Chandigarh
After breakfast leave for Chandigarh. On arrival check in hotel. Evening free for site seeing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Chandigarh-Delhi
After breakfast leave for Delhi. Lunch En route. On arrival check in hotel. Evening free for site seeing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Depart Delhi
On time departure transfer to International airport, fly Delhi-Home.
