About The Trek
A strenuous graded trek; the Annapurna circuit trek is one of the Himalayan classic trek that is demanding and meant for the fit and experience trekkers. The trek cross over the high pass of Thorong La pass (5416 M) from where a rewarding view of the Himalayan mountain range can be seen. Acclimatization prior to trek is a must for this trek thus the itinerary is designed in such manner to get gradual acclimatization.
The trek passes through petit villages and remotely hidden Tibetan monasteries. Lots of photo opportunities are there and a camera with panoramic view can capture altogether more then 30 snow capped peaks melting in rising and setting sun.
Day By Day Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On arrival met by representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel at Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi Sightseeing-Delhi-Katmandu.
Full day sightseeing of New and old Delhi historical monuments also including the parliament house, India Gate and the National Museum. Evening transfer to International airport. Fly Delhi Kathmandu. Arrive Tribhuvan International Airport in Katmandu and be met by representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu
Acclimatization sightseeing: Spend the day on a guided tour of sacred Tibetan stupas and monasteries. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Kathmandu-Besisahar-Khudi (790 m)
Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar 190km (5 hrs), the starting point of the trek. A short trek of 01 hrs takes us to our first camp at Besisahar. Overnight camp at Besisahar..
Day 05: Khudi-Syanje (1,314m)
Early morning after breakfast at the camp we start our trek of about 16 Kms which will take us about a gradual walk of 06 hrs traversing through beautiful scenic valleys and waterfalls. Magnificent view of Mt. Lamjung . (6,775M) Mt. Manaslu II and Peak 29 (7,493M) can be capture at this point. Overnight at the camp
Day 06: Syanje-Dharapani (1,860M)
Today we shall trek for about 17 Kms in 07 Hrs. From the comparatively broader valley of Syanje we now enter in the valley which is narrower as we approach ahead. Petit villages with houses scattered along the steep flank of the valley wall. Today we shall enter the famous Manang District at Tal (1700 m). Overnight at camp at Dharapani.
Day 07: Dharapani-Chame (2,670 m)
Entering through small Tibetan villages we often see on our route, long mani walls, old chortens with prayer flags. Passing cross the small village of Kani we reach Chame the headquarters of Manang District. From here we can see the Annapuran II standing majestically at a distant. The total distance of 13 km will be done in 06 hrs of gradual walk. Overnight camp at Chame.
Day 08: Cheme-Pisang (3,185 m)
Morning after breakfast at the camp we start for comparatively a shorter walk of about 05 hrs covering 14 km walking along the Marsyangdi river and finally ascend walk to Pisang. Overnight camp at Pisang.
Day 09: Pisang Manang (3,351m)
Today the trek starts along the south bank of Marsayangdi river. The terrain suddenly changes to very lesser vegetation to more barren land. Throughout the trek follows the river basin and finally a short ascend to Manang. A total walk of 15 km is done in a gradual walk of 05 hrs. Overnight camp at Manang.
Day 10: Manang
A spectacular village, today we take a rest day at the village, visit some local house and interact with the local and observe the local village life style. A magnificent view of Annapurna III and Gangapuran can be captured from here. Overnight camp at the village.
Day 11: Manang-Yak Kharka (4,018 m)
We trek about 8-9 km in 05 hrs branching away from the Marsyangdi Khola, steadily climbing into quiet distinct alpine areas. Overnight camp at Yak Kharka.
Day 12: Yak Kharka-Thorong Phedi High camp (4,800 m)
The trek (9km/6hrs) to Thorong Phedi goes through meadows and ever changing rocky landslide areas, before finishing with a very steep climb to the high camp. Overnight camp.
Day 13: Thorong Phedi-Muktinath (3,798 m)
On of the toughest day of the trek perhaps a long 07 hrs for a mere 11 km. We start very early in the morning before the sunrise to cross the Thorong La pass (5,416 m) by noon, and then trek down to Muktinath. Muktinath, a symbol of religious acceptance, is sacred to Hindus and Buddhists alike, for they worship their God by a different name in the same temple. Overnight at the camp.
Day 14: Muktinath-Jomsom (2,800 m)
Comparatively a longer stretch of about 19 km but easy descends of 05 hrs to Jomsom offers us the views of the Kaligandaki River far below and Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri peaks towering in the west. At Eklobhatti Village the trail conjoins with the path from Kagbeni winding along the valley floor through beautiful barren lands with snow capped peaks in the distance. Overnight camp at Jomsom.
Day 15: Jamsom-Tukche (2,590 m)
The 11km/4hrs trek to Tukche takes us along a river bed (where you can look for ammonite fossils) and then by apple, peach and apricot orchards. We will pass through Marpha, a peaceful Tibetan settlement with a large temple and monastery, before reaching Tukche. Overnight camp at Tukche .
Day 16: Tukche- Ghasa (2,010 m)
Today start walking along the river valley with a few tributary crossings before reaching Larjung. After Dhampu the scenery changes dramatically, as we enter a pine forest with lush vegetation and have beautiful views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna region. The trek from Kalopani to Lete Khola gradually goes down before the final climb to Ghasa. We trek trek 19 km in 06 hrs to reach this camp site. Overnight at the camp.
Day 17: Ghasha-Tatopani (1,190 m)
We start our trek with a gradual descent through valleys and fields with beautiful rupse chahara (water falls) along the way. We will stop in Dana Village, site of the deepest gorge in the world, and have lunch. Tatopani (hot water), where we will be stopping, is home to some wonderful hot springs that sit beside the icy river. It is here that you will have your first opportunity in many days to have a nice soak and for that we trek about 06 hrs covering about 15-16 km. Overnight at the camp.
Day 18: Tatopani
Another rest day! We recharge ourselves and renew our weary limbs by alternating soaks between the river and the springs. Explore the valley. Overnight at the camp.
Day 19: Tatopani-Ghorepani (2,750 m)
After the wonderful rest day we have a challenging day ahead to the stiff ascent. But we are rewarded with breathtaking sunset view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna from the top. We do a 13 km tough walk in about 07 hrs. Overnight at the camp at Ghorepani.
Day 20: Ghorepani - Pokhara (800 m)
Today we start very early before the sunrise a hike of one hrs up to the Poon Hill (3193 m) which will be the highest hill on this trek. From here we can have magnificent views of the Mustang and Phokhra valley below. Majestically lined up 30 snow capped peaks including the Annapurna rang and the Dhaulagiri gives us a perfect model pose to shoot while the melting golden sun rays kissing and romancing with the peaks. Today we cover a distance of 16 km in about 06-07 hrs. The trek ends at the lower land of Nayapul (1,100 m), pickup by the awaiting vehicle and drive to Pokhra which is 33 km from here and will take about 01 Hrs to reach the hotel. A luxurious hot bath and a dinner party await us for the celebration at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel at Pokhra.
Day 21: Kathmandu
Fly back from Pokhra to Kathmandu in the late morning after breakfast. Check into Hotel.
Day 22: Kathmandu –Delhi
Departure transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport fly Kathmandu to Delhi. On arrival, at Delhi met by representative and transferred to hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 23: Delhi-Home
On time departure transfer to International airport, fly Delhi-Home.
